Kandace

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hi. I’m Kandace! I’m a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Pinnacle. My pet family currently includes four dogs, five cats, and a bearded dragon—plus one very special angel dog who still holds a big place in my heart. Every one of them has their own personality, and life at home is never boring with that many paws (and one set of scales) around.

A fun little-known fact about me is that I’m planning to go to law school. I actually majored in Criminal Justice Administration, and I’m excited to eventually combine my passion for helping animals with a legal career. I discovered in my early 20s that I was put on this earth to help animals, and that realization shaped the last decade of my life. I plan to continue advocating for them in the future through my work in law.

Outside of work, I’m pretty low-key. I love reading, working on diamond painting projects, and—whenever possible—taking a good nap.

I’ve been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2013, with most of my experience in emergency medicine.  I’m especially interested in the psychology of pets—how they think, how they communicate, and the deep interconnectedness between pets and their owners. I also love seeing the psychological benefits that animals bring to people’s lives. From a technical standpoint, I especially enjoy phlebotomy and working through complex medical cases.

What I love most about working at Pinnacle is the leadership and standards of care. I previously worked with Dr. Worl at AEC, and I know firsthand how incredibly knowledgeable she is. I trust her with all of my own animals. She holds herself and the team to high ethical standards, never cuts corners, and always recommends what is truly best for the pet—even when the case is difficult. Being part of a team that shares those values means a lot to me.
